Awareness

May 2026

The first step isn't to change. It's to look.

Before wanting to transform anything, you have to learn to hold your gaze on what’s there. Without judgement, without rush, without dressing it up.

By ALINÉA

In a world that rewards constant action and instant change, pausing to look can feel unnecessary. Yet it is in that pause that real transformation begins.

Looking not from criticism, nor from the wish to improve, but from a loving and honest presence. It means recognising what we are, what we feel and what we live, exactly as it is.

Holding the gaze

Holding the gaze is allowing ourselves to see without turning away. It is giving space to what emerges, even if it isn’t comfortable. It is stopping the escape and beginning to accompany ourselves with respect.

When we stop avoiding, we stop repeating. And from there, something orders itself inside.

Clarity arrives when we stop avoiding what we are and begin to look with love at what is.

Consciousness before action

It isn’t about staying in the looking forever. It’s about looking first, so we can choose afterwards from a freer place. Consciousness gives us direction. Without it, any action is impulse.

Real change doesn’t begin outside. It begins when we decide to face ourselves.

An idea to integrate today

Today, spend 5 minutes sitting in silence and observing how you are, without changing anything.
Just look. Just breathe. Just witness.
